Chris Gorman for U.S. Congress
I think that we realize that Congress is suffering from a fundamental flaw: meaningful turnover. We need to get some new minds, some new ideas in there now and again to clean out the cobwebs *cough* Robert Byrd *cough*
We would be well-served and better-represented if we, as a people, in our individual districts, paid serious attention to those who challenge the advantaged incumbents with smarter policy perspectives and a greater ability to represent their home districts. We also must pay attention to seats around the country that are opening up. One of those is the 4th District of Louisiana.
Chris Gorman is one of the best candidates for the House of Representatives in the 2008 election cycle. Here is the Republican Litmus Test, which stems from a quote by Ann Coulter:
[T]oday’s Republican Party stands for life, limited government and national defense.
From the letter on Gorman’s website:
If you’re ready to elect a Congressman who will…
- Always be 100% Pro-Life
- Fight to cut Washington’s out-of-control spending
- Secure our borders against illegals
- Protect our right to keep and bear arms
- Support our troops so we can win the War on Terror
…then I invite you to join our team as we fight to restore common-sense conservative principles in Washington, D.C.
Nearly verbatim! Rarely do we find a candidate this solid on the issues without having to make a trade-off somewhere, or waking up and realizing that it was all a dream. My only regret is that we don’t have this guy running for President!
